What is vegetable-tanned leather?
Vegetable tanning is the most traditional and environmentally friendly way to produce leather. Through a series of complex processes, animal hides are fully prepared and then dyed. Instead of using harmful paints utilized in alternative processes, we use tannins, which are naturally occurring substances found in either plant tissue or tree bark. We use natural tannins so that the real quality of the leather is not hidden. We are proud to show the real faces of our products because we start with only the most desirable raw materials.
What is the difference between vegetable-tanned leather and other types of leather?
As previously stated, we do not use harmful dyes or paints to cover our leather. As a result, they are environmentally friendly and natural in color. Vegetable-tanned leather is also more sturdy than other kinds of tanned leathers. This allows our products to be flexible, yet firm enough to maintain their shapes, regardless of how much they are used. Another distinct feature of vegetable-tanned leather products is the aging process. Each product transforms uniquely over time, making every bag and wallet truly one-of-a-kind.
